Angad Berar

Das sagt der/die Künstler:in:

Angad Berar is a composer and guitarist from India, currently based in Berlin. His music blends 1960s psychedelia, krautrock, and Hindustani classical traditions into immersive, exploratory soundscapes.

Berar's debut album, Elephants on the Beach (2019), is a richly textured instrumental record inspired by his time on the beaches of Anjuna, Goa. Featuring analog instruments, ambient field recordings, and voice samples from Alan Watts and Mooji, the album gained critical acclaim and was later reissued on vinyl by Echodelick Records (US) in 2021. It was praised by publications like Rolling Stone India, The Indian Music Diaries, and It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine for its meditative atmosphere and genre-blurring compositions.

In 2024, Berar appeared on Clouds & Waves - Winter, a 7" vinyl compilation curated by Guruguru Brain, alongside artists from the global psych scene. His track on the compilation features drums by Go Kurosawa and field recordings captured in Naggar and Jodhpur.

In 2023, he collaborated with ambient artist Debjit Banerjee on Existing Quietly, a subtle and introspective album exploring stillness through minimalism and drone-infused textures.

His upcoming full-length album, Sundae, was written across Goa, Delhi, and Berlin over several years and co-produced with Jamblu. Slated for release in summer 2025, it will be available independently, with vinyl editions through Echodelick (US) and Stickman Records (EU), and a cassette version on Gezellig Records (US). Sundae continues Berar's exploration of dreamlike guitar work and ambient textures, layered with personal and sonic nostalgia.

Berar's music invites listeners into an introspective space: slow-moving, sun-drenched, and full of quiet transformations.
