With mom through Berlin: A day full of favorite places

And when it's cooler, it's really cozy inside in the pavilion - perfect for a short lunch break or an extended mom's coffee with all the trimmings.

The Gropius Bau is the perfect place to broaden your horizons with your mom. It's not just about looking at art here, but experiencing it with all your senses. The exhibitions address major themes that you might even talk about over dinner. Many artists work directly on site - this creates a special closeness and makes the visit almost a little intimate. And even if it's only a short detour: the impressive architecture and the special tranquillity in the building almost automatically ensure that you take a deep breath - a nice moment together in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.

If you want to show your mom a real Berlin feel - but without the hustle and bustle, instead with a view of the water, good food and a relaxed atmosphere - then the Zenner in Treptower Park is just the place for you. You can sit under large lime trees, look out over the Spree with a cold drink in your hand and simply enjoy life. Things are a little quieter in the Weingarten - with fairy lights, wine barrels and Mediterranean vibes. Perfect for a glass of rosé at sunset or some live music if you want to stay a little longer. Maybe there's a DJ playing or a small concert - no matter what's going on, the vibe is always just right.

At the end of the day, things get really special again: Clärchens Ballhaus is not a restaurant like any other - it is a piece of Berlin history. Between the chandeliers and creaking floorboards, you'll feel a bit like you're in an old movie.
