06.-09.07 - Bochum Total - Bochum
July kicks off with the biggest party in Bochum! At Bochum Total, the city becomes a festival location over the weekend and the city center is full of stages and food trucks. Our personal highlights of the program, which we definitely want to recommend to you: Electropop duo Paulinko on Thursday at 5pm, as well as rock'n'rollers Honeyclub on Saturday at 3:55pm, hardcore from The Narrator at 6:15pm and indiepop duo from Dortmund Finn & and Jonas at 7:30pm! We are also looking forward to alternative rockers Van Holzen on Friday and the breakthrough act of the year Ski Aggu on Sunday.
But there's also plenty going on off the streets in Bochum: Trompete has Mia Morgan as a guest on Friday (tickets from €22 are available here and the Schlegelclub also opens its doors on Saturday from 11pm for techno, proggy club sounds and house from Ramon Ramirez, Glasersfeld and Dispulus.
16.07. - July at the Indie Radar Ruhr Open Airs- Oberhausen
Juli have been an integral part of the German music landscape since 2004 and their debut single "Perfekte Welle". Since then, they have shaped an entire generation with songs such as "Geile Zeit", "Elektrisches Gefühl" and "Regen und Meer". Now they are back with their first new album in nine years and seamlessly pick up on the great songs of yesteryear with "Der Sommer ist vorbei". They can be seen at Schloss Oberhausen on 16.07. Tickets from €35 are available here.
And be sure to check out the other artists performing in Oberhausen this summer: GReeeN's concert is already sold out, but you can still buy tickets for Paula Hartmann (08.07.), 1986zig (14.07.) and Esther Graf (15.07.) here.
21.+22.07. - Flatmade Festival - Witten
Now in its third edition, the Flatmade Festival in Witten's WERK°STADT presents the insider tips of innovative pop music. 22.07. - Opening of the Transurban Festival - Duisburg
TheTransurban Festival has set itself a task: From 22.07. to 19.08., the large and empty Averdunkplatz is to be filled with life! The square will be experimentally and temporarily redesigned to provide a space for discussion, experience and production. During the four-week program phase, you can experience installations, photographs, concerts, readings, workshops and city talks. The opening on 22.07.2023 is intended to stimulate thought: What would the city center be without lively, inviting and usable public spaces?
22.07. - Light in Babylon - Mülheim
The five musicians of Light in Babylon fuse various sounds of the Eastern Mediterranean, drawing on countless styles to create a unique fusion sound between Iranian sounds, songs of the Sephardic Jews, Turkish music and pop.
