Rausgegangen goes traveling: Italy with WeRoad
For the first time ever: Rausgegangen goes traveling 😍
WeRoad invited me to turquoise blue water, lemon sorbet and 2,000 steps to heaven, che figata! I was on the Italy Express trip and in four days got to know 14 lovely fellow travelers, Neapolitan culture at its finest and, above all, WeRoad.
Here you can find out everything you need to know about my travel experience and WeRoad. Andiamo!
Your adventure with new friends instead of a solo trip:
WeRoad is your travel company if you want to travel solo but don't want to experience everything alone. The company brings you together with a small group of 5-15 people who are your age and up for an adventure. With a travel coordinator as your "buddy with a plan", you go on a discovery tour together - not like a classic guided trip, but more like a spontaneous school trip for adults.
Sounds fun? It is! Because this creates a relaxed and informal dynamic in which all travelers interact at eye level. Whether trekking, beach vacation, short trip or adventure trip: There's something here to suit almost every preference and budget!
In short: WeRoad is for anyone who is looking for exciting experiences and wants to meet new people.
If you don't fancy all-inclusive club vacations or package holidays either, then WeRoad is your perfect match! Have you got wanderlust? Then use the code RAUSGEREIST to save €150 on your next WeRoad trip 💜
Italy Express: 5 days of full power & me in the middle of it all
WeRoad invited me on a trip to Naples and of course I immediately packed my suitcase and set off as a Rausgegangen test rabbit. My trip was short and sweet - in the WeRoad Express travel style, so to speak: experience and see as much as possible in just a few days. These five days are intense and require a fast pace - perfect for anyone who doesn't want to waste any time and likes to be carried away by the group's dynamic. Of course, there was still time for smaller and larger breaks in between!
▶️ On the first evening, I got to know my fellow travelers over pizza and limoncello spritz. What I found really cool: That I bumped into new people and got to know people outside my own bubble! Once again, I realized that you can really find common ground with the vast majority of people - especially with the friendly and open-minded people who book a trip like this. It's easier to get involved in new encounters outside of your own everyday routine. By traveling together, we all came together very quickly and became a team.
The best advantage, in my opinion, is that you are never alone anywhere. Imagine you're traveling to Swedish Lapland, South Korea or on your way to the Taj Mahal - all unknown environments that you can get to know together with WeRoad and your new allies.
The hotel: Tbh this was more of a 4/10, which was okay in this case as we hardly spent any time there and it was more of a low budget trip. But the location was great. We were able to start our daily adventures on foot from there every day.
▶️ On the second day of our trip, we took the train directly from Naples to Pompeii, where we visited one of Italy's most famous archaeological sites. Of course, we weren't the only tourists who wanted to see the impressive ruins, so I can recommend that you stow a little patience in your hand luggage. 🤫
Visiting must-see spots with a total of 16 people requires a certain degree of flexibility and chilliness. It's all the nicer to enjoy the experiences as a small group and share memories together!
From Pompeii , we continued on to Sorrento, where everyone did exactly what they wanted to do. Of course, I treated myself to an iced coffee and sfogliatelle Napoletane (highly recommended!) at the nearest local café. We all met up again at the water's edge for a little sunbathing and to see who had the best ice cream.
After taking the train back to the city, we rounded off the evening with a dinner together. Some of the group were still in a party mood and went to test Neapolitan bars and for everyone else there were good-humored, slightly blurry selfies of the night's ensemble in the WeRoad WhatsApp group the next morning.
▶️ We started day three with a windy, beautiful ferry ride to Positano . Although the former fishing village is now quite overcrowded, it still lives up to its picturesque reputation with its many small boutiques, cafés and narrow alleyways. After a little refreshment and cooling off in the turquoise water, we set off. We climbed many, many, many steps: Over 1,500 to be exact. We sweated, we shivered, we gave it our all - and finally made it to the first stop with a picturesque view and ice-cold lemon slush. From there, the"Path of the Gods" continued along the mountains towards Agerola. It was exhausting but really worth it thanks to the breathtaking views and delightful paths - if you're in the area, I highly recommend this hike. The group stuck together and made it to the finish aperoli of the hike just after dark.
NICE TO KNOW: If you also want to hike along the trail, you should start in Agerola and hike down towards Positano instead of up ;)
▶️ We spent the last day of our trip in Naples. After a relaxed breakfast with delicious Italian pastries (have a look here if you want a bit of a local feel), the group split up: One part hiked up to the castle and took in the beautiful view over the whole city, the other part visited a museum and the catacombs. As you can see, we definitely had the freedom to shape the trip according to our own wishes and needs.
Despite the rain, we met up again in the afternoon for a guided tour of the city - as befits true model tourists. Thanks to the €1 Aperol stops along the route, we had fun together despite the bad weather and aching muscles. We then spent our last evening together eating pizza and pasta - how could it be otherwise? Afterwards, we managed to find a bar where we had the whole space to ourselves. The nostalgic class trip feeling was perfectly rounded off by the games we found there. Some of our fellow travelers decided to travel on together - others arranged to visit each other. Many will certainly stay in touch through the group - who knows where we'll meet again! 💭
Is WeRoad also something for me?
If you've read this far, the answer is probably yes! If you want to travel alone but don't have the time or desire to organize everything on your own, you should definitely check out WeRoad.
The trips are for young people between the ages of 20 and 49 who are keen to travel in a group and are open to adventure. Whether you are looking for action, relaxation or culture - WeRoad offers many different styles of travel. From hiking in the mountains to chilling out on the beach, there's something for everyone. A nice extra: WeRoad's travel quiz will help you find the perfect trip for you. Simply answer a few questions about your interests and travel style and WeRoad will serve you your perfect travel suggestion on a silver platter.
"You just bring your rucksack, we'll bring the friends!" has also been proven in Italy. The group grows together quickly and real connections can develop. Many participants had different reasons for being there - from "trying something new" to "my friends didn't have time". If you are open to new encounters and don't feel like traveling alone, WeRoad is a great option for you.
On our trip, we saw many exciting, interesting and beautiful places - but also less hidden corners and local treasures. So if you prefer to travel at your own pace, WeRoad might not be for you. Especially on an express route, you see the most important spots and can get a good picture of the city in a short time, but you will also meet lots of other travelers. Depending on how much free time you have at the end, you also have breaks that you can organize according to your own taste. Your Travel Coordinator will be on hand at all times if you have any special requests or feedback.
Even those looking for a purely relaxing trip, where the main focus is on relaxing, may not find the ideal choice here - at WeRoad, the focus is on shared adventure.
But if in doubt: the proof of the pudding is in the eating! Click through the WeRoad trips and see for yourself if there's something for you.
Four steps to your next adventure:
➡️ Choose your destination and departure date on the WeRoad homepage and book your tour, with the code RAUSGEREIST you can save 150€ on your next trip!!!
➡️ You arrange your own flight and travel arrangements, so check out cheap options early enough
➡️ Approximately two weeks before departure, your travel coordinator will create a WhatsApp group for all participants. Here you can not only get initial information and answers to your questions, but also get to know your fellow travelers a little better
➡️ Pack your rucksack and look forward to new experiences!
Have fun! xx Wenke 💜
