Feel-good kiosk on Hollerner See: pike and sun
A good kiosk makes every lake excursion better. If your swimming destination is Hollerner See in Eching, then it's best to look for a mooring near the Hecht und Sonne kiosk. It's a real oasis of well-being.
You've never heard of Hollerner See? No need to question your lake skills, as it has only recently become accessible to swimmers. The lake was created as a quarry pond after large-scale gravel extraction on the initiative of the recreation area association. The first construction phase on the south-eastern shore was inaugurated in summer 2011. It was then opened for swimming in 2020.
"Everything is not nice in heaven"
Under this motto, the two restaurateurs Tobias Aschenbrenner and Gregor Hauer decided without further ado to make the grounds and the park around the lake cozy for everyone. The first prank: the Hecht und Sonne kiosk. Located at Fretz 3 next to the water rescue service, it is intended to ensure a colorful get-together among all bathers. The many parasols and sun loungers certainly put everyone in a good mood. Tobias and Gregor have big plans for the future: next year, there will be additional culinary offerings - all designed to ensure that people can spend time together, have a good time, but that nature and the lake don't suffer as a result. Sounds good, we're excited.
Available at the kiosk
Swimming makes you hungry. So head for the pike and the sun. Settle down in a deckchair with a view of the turquoise blue water and treat yourself. You will be provided with all kinds of good things at any time of day. Look forward to hearty meals such as homemade snacks, sandwiches, various spreads and pasta and sausage salad.
There is Bavarian-roasted coffee, soft drinks and, of course, a wide range of ice cream and iced coffee - after all, we are on the water.
For sundowners in the evening (and of course also for day drinking) you can stock up on cocktails, beer and wine. We highly recommend the Lillet Wildberry or the Malfy Gin with pink tonic. The drinks are served exclusively in Recup cups and the snacks are either consumed on site or packed in sustainable to-go boxes.
It all sounds like a real happy place for long, warm summer days.
