Kiosks in Munich

At the Großhesseloher bridge in Pullach, you not only have a beautiful view over the Isar valley, but there is also a real kiosk gem here: the Konsum Kiosk. As the name suggests, food and drink are a top priority here. In the white wooden hut by the bridge, you can find grilled sandwiches, (butter)pretzels, fresh cakes, wieners in a roll, ice cream from Froobies from Lake Constance and, of course, the right drink for every kind of thirst. You can either take everything in your hand and sit down by the water or make yourself comfortable in the adjoining beer garden. From time to time, you can also get pizza at the Konsum Kiosk, namely when the crew from Salieveto sets up their pizza oven. The disused toilet block in the southern part of the English Garden is probably one of the best-known kiosks in Munich. Located right next to the Eisbachwelle, Fräulein Grüneis is the perfect starting point for a long (or short) walk through the English Garden. The kiosk offers chilled drinks, ice cream, snacks, home-baked cakes and a variety of daily specials to satisfy your hunger. There can be a bit of a queue here in summer, but the sight of the charming, historic building makes up for it. Fräulein Grüneis currently offers brunch boxes every Sunday on advance order. At the end of last year, two very special Munich residents opened a kiosk in Laim: musicians Amy Warning and Matthew Austin. They actually wanted to turn the store in Friedenheimerstraße into a café, but when the owners weren't enthusiastic about it, Ami and Austin came up with the idea of a kiosk. The result is "der kiosk" - a well-stocked mix of everything you should find in a kiosk. This naturally includes sweets of all kinds, coffee and croissants, magazines and newspapers, the odd book, (post)cards and a little stationery for everyday needs. On top of that, you can send parcels there via Hermes and, of course, play the lottery. One thing is for sure: Ami and Matthew are always happy to see you!

The Michlhäusl is also located in the English Garden. Here you can get Bavarian organic delicacies and Hofbräu beer. If there is no lockdown, you can also take a seat in the small but lovely beer garden. The kiosk is known for its 100% controlled organic food and only serves regional, organic and fair food.

Since 2017, just in time for its 100th birthday, the Kiosk 1917 at the Tierparkbrücke in Thalkirchen has been back in operation. The new operators have painstakingly restored the then dilapidated building. The result is really impressive. You will pass Kiosk 1917 on your way towards Flaucher and can pack a chilled drink to go. In addition to beer, lemonade and aperitifs, you can also get a snack, cake and coffee.

The kiosk at the Reichbachbrücke is perfect for all night owls. Under normal conditions, you can stop here from 06:00 in the morning until 05:00 in the morning. You'll find over 300 different types of beer from all over the world, magazines, Ben & Jerry's and Häagen-Dazs ice cream, frozen pizzas, snacks and drinks. Whether you want to go to the Isar and need something to go or you live in Glockenbach and urgently need a frozen pizza - you'll find it here at (almost) any time.

Since 2015, the Isarfräulein kiosk café has been a popular place to go directly on the high banks of the Isar on the disused former state railway station in Großhesselohe. In addition to the beautiful Isar meadows, homemade cakes, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks are sold here to hungry and thirsty walkers. If you want to treat yourself to a delicious piece of cake at the end of a long hike, it's worth checking the opening times, as the Isarfräulein is only open at weekends.

The blue of the kiosk at Nockherberg lights the way to coffee, Wildbräu beer, ice cream and Bavarian conviviality from afar. The kiosk is a true institution in Obergiesing and always provides you with the right drink. As soon as it is possible again, there is a small seating area in front of the kiosk where you can make yourself comfortable. However, you can also enjoy your snacks and drinks with a view in the Kronepark opposite.

When the first warm rays of sunshine come out, Schwabingers find themselves sitting in the sun loungers in front of the Fräulein Müller kiosk with a Spritz in hand. If that's not possible at the moment, you can take a cool drink to the English Garden, which is just around the corner. The kiosk offers a large selection of delicious cakes, snacks and drinks - everyone will find something to satisfy their hunger and thirst here.

The Isarwahn Kiosk's cozy beer garden attracts numerous Munich residents to the Wittelsbacherbrücke every day in summer. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, currywurst and beer, this is the place for you. Away from the chic crowd, next to the Isar river and surrounded by greenery, it's a great place to meet up with friends. As long as the beer garden has to stay closed, you can of course just grab a beer to go and walk down to the Isar.

At the Eisbachkiosk, the Isar feels a bit like California. For a year now, the new kiosk has been located right next to the Golden Bar, the terrace of the Haus der Kunst and the Eisbachwelle. Palm leaves, surfboards and hammocks make the beach and surf vibes perfect. When the weather is nice, you can get coffee, cold drinks and delicious vegan burgers here. If you get thirsty or hungry while sunbathing and swimming in the Eisbach, you've come to the right place.

A really charming kiosk opened in Neuhausen on the corner of Nymphenburger Straße and Ruffinistraße in 2018. In the former waiting hall for bus and streetcar passengers, you can now get panini, coffee and a small selection of pastries. Owner Angie Spranz also has a drink or two of an alcoholic nature on offer. The best thing is that you don't have to move on, as there are a few chairs and tables in front of the kiosk or you can sit down on the large round bench under the trees in front of the kiosk. If you still feel like a walk afterwards, you can head towards Nymphenburg Palace Park, which is just a stone's throw away.
