The Rausgegangen Quarter Challenge: Plagwitz
How far can you get with a budget of €25 in Plagwitz? We put it to the test: Focaccia at Backstein West, a cold fun drink by the canal, a relaxed round of billiards at Westwerk and an open-air movie at the end. Find out how we didn't pay more than €25 for all these activities.
Neighborhood tour through Leipzig-Plagwitz with €25
The challenge is: How far can we get with the €25 starting balance of the Sparkasse GiroFlex account in various Leipzig neighborhoods? For part 1, we visited our favorite spots in Plagwitz this time.
Our first stop is the newly opened Backstein West. The store is a little hidden away, but when it comes to bread and pastries, we simply love this location. We got the focaccia with zucchinis there for €4.50 and it was an absolute dream - at least a 10/10 in terms of taste.
Our afternoon continued with a walk along the beautiful Karl Heine Canal. On the way, we had a fun drink for €1.40 - easily paid for with Apple Pay. Speaking of paying: If you...
→ are under 26 years old
→ are still at school, in training or studying
...you should definitely take a look at Sparkasse Leipzig's GiroFlex account. This account is specially tailored to the needs of young people. You also get €25 starting credit, which you can use to spend a great day in Plagwitz, for example :) How nice?
This is the most important information about the account:
- egal, ob Kind, Schüler, Studi oder Azubi – das Jugendkonto ist kostenlos und passt sich deinen Bedürfnissen an
- 2 Sparkassen-Cards zur Bargeldauszahlung am Geldautomaten und Bezahlen im Handel (inkl. Wunsch-PIN)
- vergünstigte Kartenprodukte (Kredit- und Debitkarte) von Mastercard und Visa Card mit attraktiven Leistungen zubuchbar
- 25€ Startguthaben
- regionaler Partner in Leipzig und Umgebung
Our tour continued to the canteen in the Westwerk, where you can play darts and billiards or simply have a relaxed drink. We "practiced" a bit at billiards, as we hadn't done so well at the game the last few times 👀 For €4.87, our skills improved by around 0.02% - but the fun factor was 100% at the start.
Just in time for sunset, we ended the evening at the summer cinema at the Plagwitz market hall - starry skies, lovely people, cool drinks and a big screen. Perfect for a relaxed summer evening. We spent €9 on the ticket and afterwards we even had €3.50 for a beer. That means: In the end, we even had €2 left over from the budget! You can also find the whole tour here in the reel. (the link has to be added here in Fr.) If you're interested in our next tours through other Leipzig neighborhoods, follow us on Instagram and stay tuned 👀
Our conclusion: €25 will get you further than you might think at first 💜🤝🏼
