Did you know that the Ruhr Festival is one of the oldest and largest theater festivals in Europe? In 1946, artists from Hamburg swapped their performances for coal from the Ruhr region - art for coal, in the middle of the post-war period. One of Europe's most important theater festivals has grown from this strong gesture. And in 2025, it still offers new perspectives, really good vibes and, above all, culture that has something to say!
