Sushi at Ushi
New tenants have moved into the small but beautiful wooden pavilion on Herkomerplatz. For a few weeks now, you can find a new sushi restaurant there with the catchy name: Ushi. In addition to high-quality sushi, Ushi also serves poké bowls, ceviche and ramen. If you want to treat yourself to something particularly tasty, this is the place for you.
Munich restaurateur Andreas Buchwalsky knows a thing or two about funny names. His local butcher's shop in Lehel, which he took over from his family, was quickly renamed the "Beleidigte Leberwurst". There you can get meat from selected farms in the area. Buchwalsky's latest project is Ushi. You won't get any meat there, but lots of fish and vegetarian and vegan options. Together with Frank Kleine, who already owns the Munich sushi restaurant Shizoo, Buchwalsky offers you first-class sushi that is well worth the money. We must warn you in advance that the food at Ushi is not cheap. If you are looking for a quick snack, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a flavorful dining (or delivery) experience, then this is the place for you. At Ushi you will find the biggest and most creative (and perhaps best) sushi rolls in all of Munich.
Numerous vegan and vegetarian options
As a starter, you can choose between classic Japanese starters such as miso soup or edamame - but we would recommend the ceviche. Ceviche is a Peruvian fish dish that you can also try in a vegan beet version at Ushi. For the main course, you can choose between poké bowls, ramen and sushi. With sushi, less is more, as the portions are really large. There is a particularly large selection of fish-free options. Vegetarians and vegans will be just as happy here as lovers of classic sushi. What all the rolls have in common is their creative composition, which will delight your taste buds. Mimi, for example, consists of tuna, tempura ebi, caramelized soy sauce and spicy sour cream. Leni consists of sweet potato, sugar snaps, avocado, chili and marinated red onions. The Eva roll is also particularly tasty, wrapped in a spicy shiso leaf and filled with beetroot, sweet potato and avocado.
Up to 80 seats on the terrace
As soon as the weather and the measures allow, you can enjoy your sushi in peace and quiet on the Ushi terrace in full corona compliance. Up to 80 seats will soon be available here. Until then, all dishes are available to take away or you can have them delivered to your home. It is important to the owners of Ushi that your food arrives in high-quality and sustainable packaging. The soy sauce is packaged in a glass bottle and the sushi in a sturdy paper box. Even dining at home becomes a little luxury experience here.
