13 tips for food on the go

Food in your hand makes every walk better. And actually your whole life too. We have put together a colorful list of food to go so that you are equipped with good tips for every hunger. Pizza slices at Tosto - Giesing

Pizza, pizza - if you're craving pizza and you're near Silberhornstraße, Tosto is always a good idea with its street vendors. Treat yourself to one or more slices on the go. Our favorites include the pizza bufala and the version with gorgonzola and spinach. But just see for yourself what comes fresh out of the pizza oven and treat yourself.

French fries & currywurst at Alles Wurscht - Schwabing

Alles Wurscht near Münchner Freiheit is a great place for takeaway, but if it's possible again, spend some time in the beautiful little garden behind the house. But we digress. What we're actually talking about: currywurst and chips. Incidentally, Alles Wurscht also serves vegan versions of the former. And if you don't fancy chips, the potato salad is always a good choice.

Crêpes at Gans am Wasser - Sendling

A sweet recommendation in between, namely the crêpes from Gans am Wasser. You can get them the classic way with apple sauce, cinnamon and sugar or a little more daring with white chocolate and coconut. Add a Spezi and the little sugar rush is perfect.

Sandwiches at Marinas Feinkost - Viktualienmarkt

You should not only know this stall at Viktualienmarkt if you are a fan of Italy, but also if your heart beats for very good sandwiches. You can get them from stall owner Marina. Freshly prepared, with the best ingredients and interesting combinations, which also cater to vegans and vegetarians.

Potato creations at Caspar Plautz - Viktualienmarkt

Certainly not an insider tip, but simply one of the best meals you can indulge in: Capar Plautz on the Viktualienmarkt. Here we fell in love with potatoes and bathed in green sauce. Okay, maybe a little dramatic, but it just tastes good. Plan some waiting time at lunchtime and then enjoy some of the best potatoes you can get.

Vegan kebab at Erbil's - Haidhausen

Vegetarians and vegans have been celebrating Erbil's near Ostbahnhof for some time now. And rightly so, because the Royal Seitan kebab in bread or in a Dürüm tastes really good. So really good. Incidentally, people who don't eat vegetarian or vegan food also think so. Get something to eat at Erbil's and then spend your meal break at Bordeauxplatz, which is just around the corner.

Lebanese pizza at Manouche - Sendling

It's almost too cozy at Manouche to just grab something to go. But as there's no other option at the moment anyway, we at least don't want to miss out on the food. The Lebanese pizzas in particular are great to eat on the go. If you fancy a spicy variation, you should order a Manouche Zaatar. But the Manouche Cocktel with zaatar (spice mix), cheese, mint, cucumber, tomato and olives always tastes very good too. Try it out and find your own favorite.

Waffles at bean batter - Westend

No waffle maker at home, but really fancy fresh waffles? We've been there. That's why there's absolutely nothing wrong with a regular visit to the bean batter in the Westend. Whether you fancy a sweet snack with maple syrup or a hearty variation with smoked trout and beetroot, this is the place for you. Who needs their own waffle maker!

Georgian-Greek dumplings at Royal Healthy Slices - Schwabing

If you'd like a change from pizza, kebabs and the like and are also close to Hohenzollernplatz, we recommend a visit to Royal Healthy Slices. This snack bar is a real family business. Mama Maria conjures up Georgian-Greek specialties and son Herlakes serves and gives advice through the window. Look forward to various dumplings, pita burgers and desserts such as (vegan) cakes or profiteroles.

Falafel sandwich at Sim Sim - Maxvorstadt

It's lunchtime, you're out and about in Maxvorstadt and you're hungry. Want something quick, cheap and tasty? Then a falafel sandwich at Sim Sim is just the thing. Crispy falafel in Arabic flatbread with hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, mint, rocket, gherkins and turnip is the perfect lunchtime snack. We can also highly recommend the halloumi or grilled vegetable sandwich.

Patisserie pastries at Lea Zapf - Viktualienmarkt

Made for the hand: Lea Zapf's delicious patisserie cookies are light and airy - and score full marks for taste. So if you're out and about at the Viktualienmarkt and fancy something sweet, stop by master confectioner Lea Zapf. Her stand tempts you with cakes, a new version of the cream puff called Luftikus, all kinds of tarts and brioche.

Vegan hot dogs at Organic Garden - city center

Let's be honest: hot dogs always work. And if not on a visit to IKEA, then at least on a stroll through the city center. Organic Garden's new store in the city center proves that vegan hot dogs are also a lot of fun and taste great. Here, you can either choose from three existing favorites or simply top up your own sandwiches, tofu sausage and toppings. What you get then not only looks chic but also provides a little taste sensation. Our recommendation: buy two at once!

Banh Mi at Bep Ho - Giesing

Banh Mi always works. In a nutshell: Banh Mi is a baguette made from rice flour, topped with fiery, fruity chili sauce, cucumber, grated carrots and fresh coriander. Finally, pork, beef or chicken is added. Vegetarians can choose between tofu, sides or sometimes an omelette. And the banh mi is ready - in our opinion the queen of sandwiches. As we have become little experts when it comes to banh mi, we recommend our insider tip from Giesing: Bep Ho in TeLa. We also recommend Banh Mi & Beer in Westend or Soumi in the old town.
