10 Jahre nsdoku – 80 Jahre Kriegsende

In the organizer's words:

With Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter and Mirjam Zadoff

To mark our 10th anniversary and the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we are reopening our doors - with a new reading café, two new exhibitions and a varied anniversary program.

On May 8, Mayor Dieter Reiter and our director Mirjam Zadoff will speak at the reopening from 1 pm. Afterwards, we cordially invite everyone to take a look around and take part in numerous activities throughout the building. From 7.30 pm, the anniversary of the end of the war will be commemorated musically in a joint concert with the Hochschule für Musik und Theater.

With the reopening, we are showing the intervention Erinnerung ist..., in which more than 20 selected objects complement our permanent exhibition and tell new stories. In their video installation overexposed/underexposed, filmmakers Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi examine eight places in Munich that carry a history of terrorist violence, where people were killed, injured and traumatized for right-wing extremist, racist and anti-Semitic motives.
