What it's about:
Yoko is a wanted murderer on the run. Under a new identity, she lives as John on a small Greek island, works in a restaurant high above the sea, has made friends and has found peace.
Yoko is the past. John is the future.
As well as working in the taverna, John looks after the estate of Ingrid, a wealthy woman who only spends the summer months on the island. He tends the garden, enjoys the exclusive peace and quiet and the benevolence of his employer. But while John thinks he is safe, Yoko is still being sought in Germany. The "Yoko case" is reopened in a television program and new evidence comes to light. Her file is opened again, and what Yoko has always feared happens. John is unmasked. The hunt begins.

The author:
Born in East Tyrol, Bernhard Aichner discovered writing early on as a way of countering the confines of rural life. Inspired by the fairy tales his mother read to him, he developed a passion for dark stories. To this day, the author writes by hand and sketches each scene on paper first. This deliberate way of working allows him to create a special closeness to his characters, which makes readers empathize intensely with them.
Aichner achieved his international breakthrough in 2014 with his thriller "Totenfrau". The NETFLIX series adaptation was among the TOP 10 in 67 countries worldwide, season 2 will run from March 19, 2025.
