10. Krimifestival Erfurt - Nicola Förg & Susanne Mischke: Morden im Norden, Särge am Berge

In the organizer's words:

Two strong women with two exciting crime thrillers: concentrated female power from the Allgäu

What it's about:

Susanne Mischke murders in Hanover, Nicola Förg in the Alps - they both grew up in Kempten and now live in the Allgäu. One in the Oberallgäu, the other in the Ostallgäu.
They are quasi "serial killers"! The Allgäu ladies present their latest crime novels - two murderous readings and exciting insights: Mischke asks Förg and Förg asks Mischke.

"Damned women": The ice on the Grüntensee is thin, the early morning is freezing cold. All help comes too late for the woman who has broken through the ice. But what was the former journalist doing here in the first place? Irmi Mangold, who had only recently made friends with the dead woman, Cordula, on a ski course, refuses to believe it was an accident. After all, investigating is her passion, and she had imagined retirement would be much easier. Cordula researched the tragic fate of a forgotten artist. Had she found out something explosive that she would have been better off not knowing? Did the inheritance dispute with her half-sister play a role? Or had a smouldering dispute with the publisher's son escalated, which had already cost Cordula her job?

"Don't make a mistake": When the popular Hanoverian barber Moussa's carotid artery is severed with a razor, Chief Inspector Bodo Völxen and his team are faced with a particularly tricky case. Customers, colleagues and even relatives have unfinished business with the victim, who has led a life on a knife's edge - and in the back room of the barbershop, everything points to shady dealings. Investigator Erwin Raukel in particular, himself a loyal regular at Moussa's, is determined to catch the murderer. Support comes from an unexpected quarter - in the form of a female investigator all too familiar to the team, who steers the case in a new direction ...

The authors:
Nicola Förg, bestselling author and journalist, has now written over twenty crime novels, contributed to numerous crime anthologies and published a novel about Iceland and a Christmas novel. "Hintertristerweiher", her critically acclaimed novel, is "a subtle family story that spans generations and builds an exciting arc from the turmoil of the Second World War to the confusion of the present day" (Münchner Merkur). Born in Oberallgäu, she studied German and geography in Munich and now lives with her family, ponies, cats and other animals on a farm in Prem am Lech - she knows a thing or two about animals, forests and farming. She has received several awards for her books for her commitment to animal welfare and environmental protection.

Susanne Mischke was born in Kempten in 1960 and now lives in Wertach. She was president of the "Sisters in Crime" for several years and gained a large fan base with her gripping crime novels. For her book "Wer nicht hören will, muss fühlen" she was awarded the "Agathe", the women's crime fiction prize of the city of Wiesbaden. Her Hanover crime novels have enjoyed great success beyond the borders of Lower Saxony.
