FESTIWELT, the Berlin film festival network, invites you to the 11th edition of the Long Night of Berlin Film Festivals.
Around 20 festivals will be showing award-winning films from all over the world - including some German premieres. From moving documentaries to animated short films, from indie gems to genre highlights - the program is as diverse as the Berlin festival landscape itself.
Look forward to cinematic fireworks with stories about Iggy Pop and Björk, true crime and demons, Christmas moments and animals on the run - including the first trip to Mallorca and the first kiss.
The program runs indoors from 5 pm and outdoors from 8:30 pm. Festival organizers and filmmakers will be on hand to provide insights behind the scenes.
One reason for the event is to introduce the audience to the respective Berlin film festivals and make them palatable.
Another background is the political concern of FESTIWELT: as an association and network with over 20 member festivals, the institution has been persistently pursuing cultural policy with the Berlin Senate and Parliament for years. Many of the festivals do not receive any funding from the city - even though their initiators do a lot for Berlin's cultural landscape, bring guests from all over the world to the city, fill the cinemas and show the audience films that would otherwise hardly be shown anywhere else.
Come along and celebrate the diversity of independent film with us!
Delicious food will be provided by AHOI artists & events!
