When museums, galleries and cultural institutions open their doors at an unusual time and the yellow owl flies again - it's Museum Night in Mainz!

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Mainz Museum Night invites visitors of all generations for the 13th time to take an extraordinary journey through the world of art and museums into the night. From 6 p.m. to midnight, numerous museums, galleries and cultural institutions in the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital will once again become a fascinating experience for young and old.

As usual, guests can expect a varied program ranging from classic exhibitions to innovative art installations. All sorts of special guided tours, live music, interactive art activities and hands-on activities allow the participating museums to shine in a new light and create unique encounters between art and the public. While wandering around, visitors not only experience culture and music - they also get to know the city of Mainz (once again) from a new perspective.

The Mainz Museum Night is not only an event for everyone who loves art, museums and culture, it is also a feast for all the senses: visitors can enjoy the variety of offerings in a relaxed atmosphere, be inspired and enter into a direct exchange with artists, cultural workers and curators. Whether in large institutions such as the Landesmuseum, the Kunsthalle and the LEIZA, in medium-sized institutions such as the Kabarettarchiv, the Stadthistorisches Museum and the Dom- und Diözesanmuseum or in one of the numerous smaller galleries - the Museum Night offers something for every taste.

There are specially designed offers for families that will delight children and adults alike, some of which start in the late afternoon hours. The little culture fans of tomorrow can get active in creative workshops, while adults can learn more about the history and significance of the participating museums and exhibited works in exciting talks and guided tours.

The admission wristband gives you access to all participating institutions and is valid for the entire duration of the event. At the same time, the wristband entitles you to travel on the specially arranged shuttle bus, which takes everyone comfortably through the city and to the institutions. The wristbands are available in advance around four weeks before the Museum Night and on the evening itself in all participating institutions as well as in the mainz STORE on Marktplatz.

The Mainz Museum Night takes place every two years and is a highlight in the 2025 cultural calendar. It traditionally attracts thousands of visitors and is the perfect opportunity to experience the diversity of Mainz's museums in a low-threshold way in just one evening. Look forward to an evening where art can be experienced and another museum night as an unforgettable experience with friends and family.
