A mother and her daughter explore Canada's wilderness
Lecture by Verena Schmidt
This lively talk tells the story of what happens when a tour guide and her daughter embark on an intensive hiking guide project to explore the wild mountain landscape of western Canada after the death of her partner.
As a 13-year-old, Analena Schmidt likes to be outdoors when she is offered an exciting destination, such as the movie theater in the neighboring village. However, it usually only works with persuasion and over short distances. But hiking up a mountain with a heavy load only to descend straight away after looking down into the valley? Or climbing uphill and downhill for days on end in Canada? No, thank you.
Her mother Verena Schmidt, on the other hand, can't get enough of hiking and traveling. Where might this path lead? What might be around the next bend? Just a little bit higher, a little bit further, a little bit more.
How is this supposed to work?
The first time was extremely frustrating and full of conflict. But then we mastered raging snowstorms, risky bear encounters and grueling hikes and grew into a real dream team at an altitude of over 27,000 meters.
The lecture with valuable impulses to get up, carry on and travel is an ideal "motivational dose". Packed with tours, regional specialties and helpful tips, she vividly recounts months of hiking and trekking in this breathtaking wilderness.
Always outdoors, always on the move - come with us on a journey into the depths of the soul and the challenges, but also the inner peace and joy.
