20. Inselfestival

The 20th Island Festival of the Association for the Promotion of the Art and Culture Area Hombroich e.V. will take place again this year at Whitsun on the rocket station and in the Museum Insel Hombroich. From Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 9, visitors can look forward to a top-class concert program.

Music tells stories of love, death and passion, sings songs without words and expresses in sound what language is unable to say: this year's 20th Island Festival presents sound narratives from five centuries on the theme of narrative music. The festival, which takes place every two years, is thanks to the initiative of Karl-Heinrich Müller, who organized the first Hombroich Island Festival at Whitsun 1986.

The festival spans from the Renaissance to the present day, reflecting existential experiences from the cradle to the grave in a variety of ways. Asya Fateyeva, Evelina Petrova, Magdalena Cerezo Falces, Julian Prégardien, Matan Porat, Roi Shiloah and Joseph Moog as well as The Gesualdo Six, the Simply Quartet and the Cuarteto Casals are looking forward to presenting their contributions to the audience on the occasion of the anniversary. You can find the complete program >here<. Registration is not required. Free admission to the concerts at the Raketenstation. For concerts at the Hombroich rocket station, a donation is expected. A donation box is available on site. Museum admission is charged for the sound walk in the museum and the concert evening in the barn.

The Friends of the Island have been the organizers of the Island Festival since 1992 and also support the diverse activities of today's Hombroich Island Foundation, such as the Rocket Festival, the Literature and Philosophy Festival, various exhibitions and much more.
