23. Afrikafestival Alafia 2025

Dear Black Community,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
dear people of Hamburg,
dear Africa fans.

The 23rd Afrikafestival-Hamburg, Alafia 2025 will take place as usual in Hamburg-Altona, Große Bergstraße - from IKEA to Bruno-Tesch-Platz with the Alafia open-air stage.

In 2025, we are hopeful that the festival will be financially feasible.

We look forward to seeing you: curious and interested visitors.

It is important to us for political reasons that we present Black music, political discussions and the Black Albarikar market publicly in the center of the city. We want to set an example against racism and discrimination and emphasize that the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, as a multicultural metropolis, needs an international festival in the city center: For an open society!

We are certain that we will put on a festival in 2025 that will arouse curiosity and be of the highest quality. Alafia! We are working on an innovative and musically high-quality program and will bring some newcomer bands to the stage.

Musically, we want to try something new by initiating collaborations and presenting them in concerts. Two examples: Kora meets harp & balaphone meets xylophone: always percussive and vocal based.

At the Albarica market, we will set up a separate tent in which young black entrepreneurs and/or black business owners, who may not offer so many products or who do not have the human resources for three days, will sell their goods together; this may reduce the costs for the individual vendors. An offer based on the various pop-up stores in Hamburg's shopping centers. We hope that this concept will be very popular. We are also retaining the usual offer structure.

The Afrikafestival-Hamburg, Alafia is back in 2025! Live & Open-Air in Hamburg - Altona.
