2U U2-TRIBUTE

In the organizer's words:

It all started in a karaoke bar in Hamburg in the spring of 2005, when their singer was already said to have a certain resemblance to Bono Vox from U2. This was confirmed once again when he performed the song "Beautiful Day" out of a party mood and unexpectedly received a standing ovation and constant cheers from a visibly moved and surprised audience.

The idea for the U2 cover project was obvious: what must it sound like to play U2's songs live in front of a large audience?

Because the quality of their cover band in the case of such a top-class original as U2 ultimately stands or falls with their singer, in the case of "2U" the vocals set the standard for everything else, i.e. for the instruments and the indispensable specially produced samples, consisting of keyboard and synthesizer tracks, in order - as they themselves formulate their claim - "... to come as close as possible to the original...". Of course, there will never be a one-to-one copy.

And yet, no matter how high you rate the success rate of "2U", compared to the many existing U2 cover bands it is absolutely record-breaking, if you listen to the audio samples they have recorded themselves from A to Z on their website at www.2u-band.de. In fact, this fresh and very convincing U2 cover band from Hamburg with their almost outrageously authentic recording samples should arouse the interest of not only countless die-hard U2 fans towards their real live presence.
