30 Jahre Haus Schwarzenberg – Das Hoffest zum Jubiläum

When monsters eat cake with dead chickens... that sounds absurd at first. But "if an idea does not sound absurd at first, then there is no hope for it", according to Albert Einstein. We are celebrating 30 years of Haus Schwarzenberg! Of course also at the Hoffest 2025! Founded in 1995 by committed cultural workers and members of the Dead Chickens artists' group, whose kinetic, monstrously beautiful sculptures still adorn the building today, Schwarzenberg e.V. is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Three decades of independent art and culture in Haus Schwarzenberg stand for realized ideas - and give hope!

The colorful diversity of the Hoffest program reflects an eventful house history of explosive creativity: ROC ROCIT, master of street and performance art, ignites pure joie de vivre between cabaret, theater, circus and freak show in all (un)imaginable places of the courtyards. With the anniversary exhibition "Nerotitan:B-Side", Neurotitan invites you to an oasis of design: live drawing performances and a DIY print workshop allow even the youngest art enthusiasts to let their creative juices flow, while the exhibition rooms with bar and DJ set also become a chill-out area. Young creatives can also look forward to an animated film workshop and bizarrely charming shows in the Monster Cabinet. The legendary Tattoo Berlin event with eddylirious ink stands out this year with a special program: the children's stick-on tattoo allows the youngest guests to become a work of art themselves before tattoos designed for the anniversary are engraved live on stage at the Eschschloraque. Of course, the SNIPER Art Kiosk , which will provide refreshments, will also be there; this year, CC.Gambeex's PonteCarlo will be serving selected dishes.

Captivating soundscapes will stretch across the entire building: Katov Syn(th), Dikolson & Roman Dzacar will cast a magical spell of field recordings and experimental acoustic electronics in Many Tentacles ; Atxa will play the Eschschloraque with cross-genre beats and atmospheric sounds before the main acts take over the 3rd courtyard live: VORISCHT KINDER are not only the founders of alcopop, but also take states of lust, rage, intoxication and senselessness to the extreme with unique performances and Dadaist-feminist lyrics - after all, it sounds "as if Tic Tac Toe had got hold of a few instruments and whacked in some mighty mushrooms." CHRIS IMLER, legendary drummer and musician, is known for his dynamic live shows, which are deliberately chaotic and impulsive, but still come from the heart, despite all the Berlin street toughness! The result is the stubbornness between avant-garde and art-pop of a "highly esteemed grand seigneur of the Berlin underground" (taz) - a dark, danceable sound. Cmba & Courtroom Drama follow on from this, traversing the "bass continuum" and exploring experimental sound designs for the aftershow at Eschschloraque.

Inany case, the monsters will dance as they have done for decades - noisily, groaning! Their mechanics tell of an artistic free space in Berlin's Mitte district, the Hoffest of lust, intoxication and lovable freaks who burn for art and their creative, charmingly bizarre avant-garde art explosion - noisy, passionate! Okay, if that sounds absurd at first. Or, speaking with caution to children: "Fuck the banana!"
