30 Jahre Tumba-ito – Das Jubiläumskonzert!

In the organizer's words:

30 years, 6 musicians, 1 sound - and a whole lot of joie de vivre!

The Dresden-based Latin band Tumba-ito is celebrating its 30th anniversary - and with a lot of fanfare!

Since its foundation in 1995 by DJ Bongo, the band has developed into the longest-lived and probably most innovative Latin formation in East Germany. Now the six exceptional musicians are going on a big anniversary tour - with fresh songs, concentrated energy and a star guest from Colombia!

What you can expect:

A unique mix of Son Cubano, Chacha, Mambo, Timba, Samba, Cumbia, Bossa, spiced up with influences from Jazz, Soul and Pop - all handmade, authentic and with a very special Tumba-ito twist. The music is not simply copied, but creatively combined. The result? An explosive, yet finely tuned cocktail - surprising, danceable and full of alegría!

The current line-up has been on stage together for over 20 years - well-rehearsed, virtuosic and with a palpable love of music and togetherness. Their live shows are known for dynamic interaction, improvised moments and that very special groove that immediately gets you moving.

And the best part:

They are joined by the celebrated percussionist Fabio Ortiz from Bogotá, Colombia - a true master of his trade who has played with many of the greats of the Latin genre. Together with Tumba-ito, he will set off a real Latin crossover firework display at Tante JU!

Special guests? Claro que sí! - musical surprises are guaranteed for the home game in Dresden.
