United in diversity - Is Europe's economy ready for the future?

For a long time, the European Union was seen as a great, successful peace and economic project. But now it is facing new global challenges, including the weak economic situation following the financial crisis, the coronavirus pandemic and Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, which violates international law. At the same time, the US President is announcing high protective tariffs for European imports and Europe is facing rapidly growing international economies.

Numerous conflicts in Europe and around the world, hybrid attacks, as well as political instability and nationalist tendencies are challenging the European economic area.

What answers can the EU provide? What strengths does Europe offer? How can the EU respond to the geopolitical and economic challenges of the present?
