An impressive experience: captivating, moving, moving the legs and moving the heart. In short: music that makes you happy. The international grooves form the basis for the songs. There are familiar tunes, but above all original compositions penned by band founder and drummer Uwe Kellerhoff and singer Milli Häuser. There are brilliant, tricky percussion arrangements alternating with catchy, danceable songs and virtuoso solos. It is a cooperation with well-known musicians from jazz, pop and world music. The ensemble celebrates diverse musical and human encounters:
The Padi Orchestra was initiated and founded by prizewinner, drummer, percussionist and composer Uwe Kellerhoff. The ensemble was formed with refugee musicians
musicians from nine different countries. Other local musicians then quickly joined. The ensemble played with up to 24 members at many events, including Ruhr International, Beethoven-Tage Bonn, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen and many more. Due to the Corona pandemic, the large ensemble fell apart and now forms a new one with seven professional musicians. Occasionally with guest musicians from all over the world.
The PADI Orchestra makes "global music"
A perfect concert evening for cosmopolitan music fans. The PADI Orchestra offers just that in top form. Seven great musicians from three countries present a blend of West African, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Caribbean and reggae grooves and music with jazz interpretations.
"A pulsating cosmos of sound... with an impressive blend of musical finesse and cross-genre creativity. The Padi Orchestra, ... offered an evening that went beyond the boundaries of classical music performances. The musicians in the band demonstrated not only technical skill, but also a deep understanding of the emotional power of music. Every note was precisely placed, every solo masterfully arranged, and yet there was still room for spontaneous, creative improvisations that delighted the audience.
The concert shone not only with its technical virtuosity, but also with its journey through a wide variety of musical styles. The Padi Orchestra presented its extraordinary range... . This musical diversity allowed the audience to immerse themselves in new worlds of sound again and again - sometimes energetic and rousing, then again gentle and soulful.
What was particularly impressive was how the band managed to seamlessly blend the different genres together. One moment groovy jazz sounds had the audience's feet tapping, the next rousing world music elements whisked them away to distant lands, leading to exuberant dance interludes from the female part of the audience. The arrangements were refined and rich in detail, but never overloaded... The Padi Orchestra proved once again that music is a universal language that touches hearts and transcends borders.
