A summery day, young people on their way to Kobanê with the aim of rebuilding the city from the rubble. Suruç, Pirsûs in Kurdish, the border town that became the scene of the massacre of revolutionary youths 10 years ago.
On July 20, 2015, an IS terrorist blew himself up in the Turkish town of Suruç (Pirsûs in Kurdish) in the middle of a rally of young activists. 33 people died. They were on their way to the liberated Kurdish regions - armed with books, toys and hope.
Ten years after the massacre, we tell their story. Our documentary theater project "33 names - the future they wanted" is an artistic search for traces of what remains: the courage to resist. The will to fight together for a fairer world. And the unshakeable power of solidarity.
Based on experiences, reports and speeches, a play is created that bears witness - against forgetting, against fascism, against violence. And for a youth that refuses to be silenced.
It is a place of remembrance.
An invitation to look.
A call to carry on.
Because justice for Suruç means justice for all.

We are four committed students who together use the power of documentary theater to bring social and political issues to the stage. Our aim is to stimulate thought, promote discussion and bring about social change through authentic and realistic productions.
Our first project is dedicated to the Suruç massacre of July 20, 2015. With this production, we want to make the events, the background and the consequences of this tragic attack visible. We want to make the voices of those affected audible and draw attention to the importance of solidarity, justice and human rights. Our team consists of: Finn, Fini, Madita and Selma. We came together through our joint studies at the University of Hildesheim, where all four of us are studying cultural studies and artistic practice or scenic arts.
Together we are committed to social justice and social change. Through our documentary theater pieces, we aim to look at political and historical events from different perspectives, critically examining them and highlighting the narratives and voices that are otherwise rarely illuminated. We firmly believe that art can be a powerful voice for change and look forward to sharing our messages with you and inspiring reflection together.
