ALLES WIRD GUT (1998) and SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE (2024) are two examples of queer black filmmaking from Hamburg. There are 26 years between the productions and the eagerly awaited release of SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE shows that queer Black stories are still rare in German film in 2024.
What has changed in Germany since then? We want to talk about this - between then and now, between the generations of queer filmmakers in Hamburg.
