Dirk Schmitt and Klaus Tenner have long been working on the idea of creating an artists' association to represent realism in our region.

The result is 3R - REALISM - RHEIN - RUHR

Now the time has come to present this association to the art world with an exhibition.

The initiators, just like most of those involved in this exhibition, are members of the KÜNSTLERSONDERBUND IN DEUTSCHLAND 1990 e.V. based in Berlin.
With this parallel but independent association, we want to contribute to giving contemporary realism the attention it deserves in society.
To this end, we will present it with a local reference and thus support the work of the nationwide Sonderbund by utilizing the great cultural potential of the region.

The aim is to hold meetings in loose succession for the purpose of exchanging artistic positions and planning joint exhibitions in art associations, municipal galleries, alternative art venues and museums in the Rhine-Ruhr region.
