As Lady Macbeth, the Danish soprano Signe Heiberg delights audiences in Heidelberg. She now places her Scandinavian homeland at the center of this recital. Together with pianist Hanna Klose, she will present composers of the Romantic and late Romantic periods, including the artists Edvard Grieg (Norway) and Jean Sibelius (Finland), who are also very popular here, as well as lesser-known composers such as Wilhelm Stenhammar (Sweden) and Peter Heise (Denmark).

Hardly any other genre is more representative of individual artistic expression than the art song. On four dates - this is the last of the season - the members of the opera ensemble invite you to the Alter Saal and present many different facets of the art of song - from classical to modern - and demonstrate the diversity of this popular genre. Each evening promises to be a unique musical experience, with our singers and the musical sophistication of the art song taking center stage.
