The UKULELE ORCHESTER PANKOW under the direction of DANIEL FRIEDRICHS (17 HIPPIES) has been exploring the almost unlimited possibilities of the versatile four-string instrument since 2012. The orchestra plays pop songs with borrowings from classical, folk, rock and swing and surprises with fearless combinations and arrangements.

The UKULOLAS, under the direction of BIRTE REUVER, play a cheerful and colorful bouquet of mostly well-known songs, some of which surprise with their own text passages. Their repertoire, which ranges from George Ezra to the Beatles and Dota Kehr to international world music, will provide opportunities to sing along as well as thought-provoking pieces.

Both ensembles were formed 15 years ago from ukulele workshops run by Daniel Friedrichs at LOLA. On this evening, they will also pluck, strum and sing together and take us into their ukulele universe.
