The "summer chess tournaments" at Keuning.haus have been taking place since 1985 and traditionally always as part of the Nordstadtsommer. Almost anyone can take part.
Only the crème de la crème of club players (DWZ 2100+) have to watch. Although there are strict rules for all participants and a tense competitive atmosphere in the tournament rooms, the event is also very much aimed at amateur chess enthusiasts.
to amateur chess fans who are not organized in clubs. Because of this particularly open offer and the resulting "outstanding broad impact for the sport of chess", summer chess was honored by the German Chess Federation in 1998.
The blitz tournament and award ceremony will take place on July 31.
