Newroz and the cultures of the world in the flames of spring

As a community music artist with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Koray Berat Sari brings together the musical traditions of different cultures in concert formats he has developed himself. This is also the case in his new project "Newroz and the cultures of the world": Spring kindles a living fire of hope and new beginnings - a fire that burns across continents in the most diverse traditions. While many cultures celebrate the awakening of nature and resurrection as a symbol of renewal, the Indo-Iranian New Year festival Newroz (Persian: زورون ) marks a special highlight in the spring calendar. These festive days are more than just occasions to celebrate: they unite people and rituals from all over the world in a unique celebration of joie de vivre. This global diversity of spring traditions is the focus of the concert. Koray Berat Sari has put together a program that combines traditional instruments such as the Anatolian bağlama, the Caucasian duduk or Iranian drums with the sounds of classical orchestral instruments and in which music transcends borders and brings cultures together. By bringing together professional musicians and a selection of those involved in the Marxloh Music Project, musical bridges are created between Easter, Newroz and other spring festivals, making the magic of a new beginning audible.
