Even Patrick Süskind's famous play "The Double Bass" has not exactly flattered the image of the bass player. High time for more attention! Not just one, but eight basses now demonstrate their enormous expressive potential in the spotlight and open up worlds of sound never heard before. As if you were witnessing the big bang of music. You can experience powerful, meditative and highly emotional works by Julia Wolfe, John Luther Adams, Johann Sebastian Bach and the shy Russian composer Galina Ustvolskaya, who sought paths beyond all convention.
