The musical "A Chorus Line" was allowed to be performed in the Stiftsruine in 2024 without taking over the original Broadway production. Melissa King's choreography and direction, the Bad Hersfeld Festival Orchestra under the direction of Christoph Wohlleben and a stunning ensemble were frenetically celebrated after each of the almost sold-out performances.

The musical provides a deeply emotional insight behind the scenes of a Broadway production. Nothing is as merciless as the auditions that precede rehearsals for the show. -Director Zach is only looking for four dancers from the numerous applicants. He takes his job very seriously and wants to get to know the people and their stories. Why are they prepared to take on the harassment of their tough profession?

The audience experiences a dramatic selection process and gets to know all the people who are prepared to give their all to sing and dance in the famous "chorus line" on the stage that means "the world" to them. Things get tricky when Zach's former lover Cassie, once a solo dancer, also applies to join the Chorus ... And the exciting question remains for everyone: who will make it in the end?
