Ambitious but unsuccessful actor Edward suffers from neurofibromatosis, a severe facial deformity. When the opportunity presents itself, he undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically change his appearance. But life with his new dream face quickly turns into a nightmare when the role of a lifetime, for which he was born, eludes him. Obsessed with regaining what he has lost, Edward loses himself in the deep abysses of his own psyche.
