A long way down
Based on the novel by Nick Hornby
A Long Way Down is the story of four people who meet by chance on the roof of a London tower block on New Year's Eve. All four have come to commit suicide. A situation that is anything but funny at first, but which tells the story of the loneliness and brutality in the lives of big city people.
Martin, a fallen media star, Maureen, who has been caring for her severely disabled son for almost 20 years, JJ, who would like to be a rock star, and Jess, who doesn't know why her boyfriend left her. These four very different characters would never become friends anywhere else, in real life, but fate brings them together up here and a special kind of 'support group' is formed. It is said that if a suicidal person has not tried again six months after attempting suicide, statistics show that they will not kill themselves again.
The four of them postpone the suicide and set off together in search of Jess' friend, because there is a lot to sort out ... Touching, funny and bizarre scenes with plenty of English humor are created on their way back to life.
