Galerie Thomas Schulte presents the double exhibition with new and earlier sculptures by Leunora Salihu and paintings by Albrecht Schnider. A Plant. A Person. A Life. is the title, taken from a text by Schnider, and brings together works that are on the edge of something: abstract and structural, but at the same time organic and full of movement.
Salihu's sculptures refer to the physical and architectural in all formats, from standing, installed on the wall to floating, through the use of various materials such as wood, ceramic, plaster or iron. In Schnider's small-format paintings, however, two interconnected motifs gradually emerge: flowers and plants as well as echoes of the portrait. Through recurring and evolved forms, a constructed nature emerges that is rooted in life and living things, as well as in everything that is an everyday part of it.
