Beethoven Cycle III

Jan Lisiecki (once again) goes all out. This season at ProArte, the likeable Canadian with the "individual style with a sharp profile" (Der Spiegel) is performing all of Beethoven's piano concertos - and as the icing on the cake, the not too frequently performed Triple Concerto, which wonderfully combines fine chamber music interplay with large-scale symphonic architecture. He is joined by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, with whom he already performed all five concertos in 2018 - standing in for Murray Perahia. Their concertmaster Tomo Keller will take on the solo part in the Triple Concerto, while Daniel Müller-Schott will provide beautiful sounds in the lower registers on the cello. In addition to the Triple Concerto, the program on this concert evening includes the majestic Fifth Piano Concerto - and Ruth Gipps' Seascapes , a work by a British composer who had a special relationship with Beethoven throughout her life.
