ETIENNE NILLESENS - Reimagining the Snare Drum

Etienne's exploration of the snare drum pushes the boundaries of its tonal and harmonic possibilities through innovative techniques and a meticulous approach to sound. Through the use of circular movements and precise control of the points of contact, he elicits a wide range of pitches, harmonics and overtones from the drum head. His work redefines the snare drum - from a purely percussive instrument to a rich source of melodic and harmonic sounds. He expands the tonal spectrum of the instrument and creates unexpected resonances. The resulting rhythmic structures appear fluid and organic.

PHILLIP DORNBUSCH'S PROJECTOR

With his band PROJEKTOR, saxophonist PHILLIP DORNBUSCHS has set out to draw the audience's attention to music that was created in moments when people in the past and present were not in a democracy, not in freedom. Projektor makes reference to songs that are not simply entertainment or l'art pour l'art, but that really want to bring something down and put an end to oppression. Protest music. But even without the connection to protest and struggle, Projektor's music has a very direct effect.
