Acid - The Last Word

Dance theater piece by Charles A. Washington with the company of the Leipzger Tanztheater as part of the 13th Leipzig Dance Theater Weeks

"Acid - The Last Word" is a choreographic work set in a speculative time in which people dig a hole - an action that they later question: why did they dig it and what is in it now? Influenced by Thomas Nail's "Philosophy of Movement", the play examines language not as something fixed or rational, but as something that flows, folds and emerges from kinetic energy.
What initially appears to be an empty cavity - reminiscent of landfill sites, burial grounds or the eroding effects of capitalism - gradually reveals itself to be charged with invisible forces.
The piece is a poetic exploration of what we throw away, what we hold on to and how meaning can emerge from what we perceive as absence. "Acid - The Last Word" invites the audience to engage with the space between destruction and creation and to ask: What if the last word is not a conclusion, but the beginning of something?
