ACT Night: Peaceful Piano feat. Bill Laurance, Johanna Summer, Bugge Wesseltoft

Bill Laurance is a founding member of Snarky Puppy and has won several Grammy awards. In Berlin, he presents his new solo piano album Lumen. Recorded alone in a church at night, Lumen captures a sense of stillness, vulnerability and devotion. Simplicity and emotional depth in a space where every note feels fragile and profound. But this is only the beginning. Each performance changes the music, guided by the uniqueness of the moment.

With Upright, Johanna Summer hits a nerve. Recorded on an old 1920s piano, the EP comes across as a closed cycle: two improvisations open. GIANT STEPS, STELLA BY STARLIGHT and I REMEMBER YOU form the core. TEARDROP by Massive Attack follows as a matter of course. The album ends with Richard Wagner's legendary "Elegy in A flat major". A combination of the greatest freedom and some restrictions, of complete purposelessness and some desire.

It's Snowing On My Piano is probably in every household in Norway and heralds the start of the Christmas season there. Bugge Wesseltoft is still touring with this special program today. 30 years after the release of the album, a new Snowing On My Piano will be released in 2026; Live, distilled from the best recordings of the past years. This marks the end of Wesseltoft's career. Combined with the hope for a well-tempered and peaceful pre-Christmas season.
