don't talk - do it!

On the first Sunday in May, we will meet again for the big NRW bicycle star ride from many starting points to and through Düsseldorf.

Under the motto: "NordRadWestfalen - don't just talk, do it!", we are demonstrating in the year of the local elections for the implementation of good plans that have been lying in the drawers and have been repeatedly delayed politically: The construction of good and safe cycle path connections!

Because one thing is clear: only with wide cycle lanes in city centers, seamless, safe cycle paths and a network of high-speed cycle paths between cities can we persuade people to switch to bicycles.

Do you remember? The construction of five cycle highways, which were the winners of the 2013 planning competition and have now been delayed for over ten years. The huge gaps in the main cycle network and the postponed conflicts between car parking and more space for cycling and walking in our cities - and, of course, the sometimes complete neglect of everyday cycling in rural areas.

We call on politicians and administrators in all municipalities to finally put their words and plans into action - there is still far too little on the roads in cities and municipalities everywhere!
