Takeshi's Cashew
Freeway, dancefloor, lonely beach - Takeshi's Cashew set every scenario to music. Wildly combined and arranged with a sure instinct. Somewhere between music school nerds and anarcho-band, the six musicians transform listeners into optimistic dreamers and realistic ravers with eccentric flutes, confusing guitar riffs, pinpoint percussion, vintage synths, hypnotizing bass and a good breeze of echo. Their debut album "Humans in a Pool" (2021) will soon be followed by "Enter J's Chamber" (2023). Takeshis Cashew's second LP once again mixes groovy rhythms with electronic beats and hippie-esque 70s psychedelic rock - recorded in analog and in bold colors. This time not with Werner Herzog's musings, but Niklas Wandt's poetry as voice-over. Psychedelic Cosmofunk - a must live, a pleasure on record.
AFAR
AFAR, the coming together of two musicians to bridge the gap between the natural and the industrial, and to explore the paradox between the organic and the electronic. Sometimes AFAR creates very danceable rhythms overlaid with haunting vocals. At other times, the band creates atmospheric moments, taking us into a multi-instrumental soundscape that they create live on stage.
