AGUAS DE MAIO

The name of the band is an allusion to a piece by the Brazilian bossa nova composer and pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim and at the same time the program of the band's music.

The lyrics of the song in question are an enumeration of everything that belongs to a fulfilled human life, and so the musicians have selected for their repertoire from the almost endless wealth of Brazilian sounds what they found suitable, extraordinary or otherwise remarkable. Samba, BossaNova, Choros, Musica Popular Brasileira - stylistically, there are no limits except their own.

The biographies of the musicians, which are characterized by classical training, jazz, Afro, reggae, Latin, also reflect this versatility, so that each contributes another facet to the kaleidoscope of sounds.

Together, the band members have developed a repertoire that includes works by important Brazilian composers such as Djavan, Filo Machado, Joao Donato and Tom Jobim - a sonorous journey through Brazil's rich musical landscape. The band's programs are complemented by influences from jazz, tango and the diversity of music from other countries. This mixture turns every performance of the band into a fascinating musical journey between elegance, passion and rhythm.
