AIC X - 10 years of Kunstinitiativen Köln e.V.

Art Initiatives Cologne (AIC), the network of Cologne art initiatives, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year! This year's AIC ON is therefore showing the diversity and relevance of Cologne's art initiatives at a central location under the name AIC X - where X is the Roman numeral 10.

The artistic positions from the fields of visual arts and performance were proposed in an open call within the AIC network and selected for AIC X by the organization team. For example, Layla Nabi's work Säule (2022) comments on Ebertplatz in an interventive way; dancer and choreographer Laura Schönlau takes visitors to different locations on the square and combines movement languages and forms; Johanna Reinders reads from her teenage diaries and the Unbaked Collective shows a self-experiment about physical boundaries, ecstasy and the hunger for more, which is being created as part of a residency in the Quartier am Hafen. In addition, various (participatory) activities invite visitors to get to know the initiatives and spaces of the AIC network. Also culinary. And of course, 10 years is a very good reason to celebrate!

AIC X is organized from the AIC network by Leila Cheraghi (CO³ cologne contemporary concept), Marie Donike (Boddenberg),Meryem Erkuş (GOLD+BETON), Marie Gentges (Simultanhalle), Lisa Oord (Simultanhalle) and Yves Sanwidi (ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne). Supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne.
