Who could possibly be the biggest enemy of the daughter of a countess and a diplomat who grew up between London, Accra, Brussels and Bonn? That's right: a vole!

One day, Christine von Brühl's nature-loving husband suddenly stands in front of her and announces: "We now have a garden." In Kelbra in the Harz mountains. On an overgrown plot without water or electricity.

While her husband collects rainwater from the roof, channels it into the house and enjoys the nature around him, Christine feels lost and alienated. Armed with a watering can and wellington boots, she ventures into a world that is unknown to her. She fights the drought with rainwater. But because the gardening couple don't have enough work to do with the new garden, a vole is now digging its way through the new beds.
