HAVANA D'PRIMERA was founded by Alexander Abreu and is undoubtedly the most important salsa orchestra in Cuba in recent years. As a composer and arranger in a class of his own, Alexander is responsible for many of the top hits of recent years in Cuba. It is not only his unmistakable voice that characterizes the sound of the band - Alexander is the outstanding trumpeter of his generation.

As a musician in the formation Paulito FG y su Elite, Alexander became famous overnight and has been regarded as the reference for studio trumpeters in Cuba for years, enriching recordings by everyone from Los Van Van to Isaac Delgado. From the beginning, Alexander also distinguished himself as a background singer with style-defining choruses and mambos.

With Havana D'Primera, he ventured to the center of the stage directly into the spotlight. The band's groove has revolved around his characteristic voice since the first song on their debut album 'Haciendo Historia'. The list of hits is long: from 'Carita de Pasaporte', 'La Bailarina' and 'Al final de la vida' to the hit 'Me dicen Cuba'.
