All diese Dinge. Überall. Die ganze Zeit.

In the organizer's words:

Things are integrated into all the currents of our world. We are often only consciously aware of them when they suddenly break, when we bump into them or are overwhelmed by their abundance. All these things. Everywhere. All the time. describes the desire to defy this inundation. More and more often, we ask ourselves what it would be like to leave the physical world behind for a moment. Just to be, without any baggage, without noticing anything, without thinking about anything. But where would we be without things?

Things evoke memories, tell stories, serve as orientation and tools. Things manifest skills, processes of perception and action, capture time and are material for art production. The artists in the exhibition share an interest in getting to the bottom of things. They deal with the relationship between body and working tool, between form and material, machine and product, materiality and trace, usefulness and sensation. They make us want to get involved with things, to perceive them beyond their apparent meaning and function in a world in which the feeling of being overwhelmed is becoming ever stronger.

All these things. Everywhere. The whole time is curated by Marlène Harles.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog.
The exhibition takes place in cooperation with the Kunsthochschule Mainz.
