Deine Bretter LAB - Schauburg - Theater for Young Audiences, Munich

It's about growing up in a world that often doesn't make it easy to be happy. It's about hopelessness and negativity, but also about how to learn to create new hope and help yourself, the world and others.

The young people wrote and developed the play on their own. They received help with the dance choreography. The stage equipment, costumes and props were also provided by the Schauburg team. The group worked in the Deine Bretter LAB and was able to ask the LAB team for help. Initially, an organizational framework was provided, but even this was not fixed. The group started with two hours a week in October 2023 and wrote the play until around January 2024. The scenes were then developed from February onwards, again without supervision. The artistic process was entirely in the hands of the group. The group was also completely independent in terms of content. The lighting concept and set design were carried out by specialists. In addition, two dance rehearsal sessions with a choreographer took place at the group's request. At the group's request, the finished version of the play was read by a dramaturge who gave feedback.
