Alles, was fährt: Kleinkindlesung und Kreativaktion mit Dunja Schnabel

The Hamburg author-illustrator Dunja Schnabel reads for very young children from her rhyming books "Heute fährt das kleine...Pferd" and "Hase, Fuchs und Reh fahren...LKW!".

Dunja Schnabel presents the stories and pictures in an entertaining way using a Japanese paper theater, the "Kamishibai". This turns a small, fine reading into an exciting mini-theater. The stories are followed by a creative activity: together with the illustrator, the families design little companions so that even the very youngest can get hands-on and creative!

Important note on the schedule: Open family offer, come and go allowed. The author will read several times between 3 and 5 pm.

Materials are available, no need to bring anything. Recommended for families with children between 1.5 and 4 years. No registration required. Free admission.

About the books

"Heute fährt das kleine... Pferd!" and "Hase, Fuchs und Reh fahren... LKW!" are about animals, vehicles and language rhymes. Published by Carlsen in 2020 and 2023, they are among Dunja Schnabel's best-known and most popular books for the very young.

About the author

Dunja Schnabel was born in 1970 as the 15th child in the 17-member Schnabel family. She studied communication design in Mainz and then worked for several years as a graphic designer and illustrator in Berlin. She has lived in Hamburg with her husband and three children since 2000. Dunja Schnabel has already illustrated numerous children's books, including the warmly rhymed and lovingly illustrated rhyming books for the very youngest children, as well as the "Hör mal: im Kindergarten" and "Hör mal: unser Zuhause" sound books, all of which have been published by Carlsen.
