Alma Naidu

What could be better for an up-and-coming jazz talent than to be discovered by a successful musician at a jam session and immediately hired? This is exactly what happened to Alma Naidu in 2019 when she wowed drumming legend Wolfgang Haffner with a touching version of "My Funny Valentine" at Burghausen Jazz Week. He immediately hired her for his new album and many more concerts with him and his all-star line-ups (Lars Danielsson, Nils Landgren, Dominic Miller, Simon Oslender...)

Six years later, Alma has won numerous awards (BMW Jazz Award, Bavarian Art Award, Kurt Maas Jazz Award). With her debut album "Alma" she reached the top 10 of the German jazz charts and played over 50 release shows in Germany, Japan, France, the Czech Republic and Nepal.

Jazz critics call her "one of the most promising singers on the German scene" and praise her "delicate" voice. Her mixture of soaring jazz standards and poetic original compositions is haunting and sensitive. Alma means "soul" - and you can hear that in every note.
