Alou String Quartet - Jazz

The Alou String Quartet delves into the sound world of jazz, groove and improvisation and weaves multifaceted elements into the texture of the classical string quartet line-up - à la Turtle Island String Quartet.

The four musicians, Myrsini Bekakou (violin), Alma Gröning (violin), Yağmur Atagür (viola) and Esther Thoben (cello), who met during their studies at the Leipzig and Hamburg music academies, bring an impressive combination of musical interplay and personal connection to the stage.

The modern arrangements and original compositions reflect a versatility that has developed from the four musicians' lives and their enthusiasm for different musical styles.

The quartet invites the audience to immerse themselves in a world full of rich chords, dynamic rhythms and deep improvisations.
